District Nurses (Tel: 01224 846680)

home_visitDistrict nurses are qualified nurses who care for patients in their own homes, as well as in health centres and GPs surgeries. They have had extra training to enable them to advise patients on nursing problems.

The district nurse will teach patients about self care and will show carers how to cope in their absence. Their duties range from dressings, injections etc. to care of the terminally ill.

The district nurses are Marian Corsie and Karen Mair. Kate Beckman is a nursery nurse. They liaise with the Direct Delivery teams who then visit housebound people who need nursing care. They can be contacted on 01224 846680, Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.00pm and the ansaphone will be checked early morning and in the afternoon as the nurses are usually visiting during the morning.
