Welcome To The Website!
Welcome to the new and improved Carden Medical Centre website. We have made this more interactive and informative whilst retaining the original design concept. Clearly we will add more content and pictures over the coming months.
Due to a Public Holiday the practice will be closed on Monday 8th July 2013.
Extended Hours & Sit & Wait!
The practice has embraced the move to extended hours and opens 6pm to 8pm on alternate Wednesday/Thursdays and there is a move afoot by some of our earlier risers to offer appointments from 7am!!! Watch this space
Patients will be able to book appointments from the Monday of the same week. By offering increased flexibility we hope patients who meantime have difficulty getting to the doctor, will now have added opportunity. The doctors by offering this service will try and share out the responsibility equitably, but please bear in mind that the doctors will already have been working from 8.30am in the morning, as we still have to deal with the daytime commitments.
Why do we use an 0845 number?
There has been a lot of unfounded criticism in the press recently on GP practices that use an 0845 number. See the March 2011 Newsletter for a full explanation of the benefits that this affords us.
A Guide to GP Services
The Royal College of General Practitioners has produced a useful guide for patients about the services on offer at GP Surgeries and how to access them. You can download the guide below.

GP Survey 2011/12
This report gives a summary of the results of the 2011/12 Patient Experience Survey for Carden Medical Centre - Aberdeen.
The survey was sent to 638 people registered with the surgery.
The survey asked questions about people’s experiences during 2011/12 of making an appointment; visiting the GP surgery; seeing staff; being prescribed medicines; out of hours healthcare; and outcomes from NHS treatment. Results for questions about out of hours services and outcomes from NHS treatments are not shown in this report, but are shown in NHS Board and Community Health Partnership reports. A copy of the survey is available at:
